Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize and lead General Pediatrics Division.
  • Analyze clinical processes and recommend areas of improvement.
  • Establishes work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the practice
  • Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities and modifying activities as necessary to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained
  • Demonstrates primary goal of customer satisfaction through interacting with patients, physicians and other healthcare providers in a respectful, courteous and confidential manner.
  • Shows concern for our patients, physicians and team members by listening, empathizing and responding promptly.
  • Monitors, manages, and documents performance of team members
  • Assists in the management of full time equivalents(FTE) and operational expenses to ensure sound fiscal operations of the practice
  • Oversees daily/monthly expenditures, staffing and overtime hours.
  • Develops and oversees implementation and administration of internal practice policies and procedures in conjunction with UofL Physician standard policies and procedures. Interprets applicable laws, rules and regulations and ensures the practice is in compliance with them.
  • Develops and maintains effective communications between all levels of personnel.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and complies with HIPPA policies and procedures.
  • Conducts staff meetings regularly.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field, required. An emphasis in Healthcare Administration preferred. Appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Three years work and supervisory experience in practice management, required.
  • Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, specifically medical practice accounting, third party reimbursement issues, patient flow and facilities management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management techniques.
  • Knowledge of health care administration systems.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to use various computer systems and applications.
  • Ability to plan, organize and supervise.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and problem-solving techniques in the decision-making process.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Normal Office and Patient Care Settingtypically sitting at desk, intermittent walking, standing or stooping May require some travel. May require light lifting at times (25 lbs. or less). Requires good hearing. Requires good near or distant vision. Requires distinguishing colors and/or depth perception to judge distances. Requires handling, by seizing, holding, grasping or turning hands, but without finger dexterity.
