Job Summary:

As an Analytics Engineering Director you will work closely with the Analytics Engineering, Data Science, DevOps, QA and Product Management teams to design, build, deploy Data Pipelines, Analytics components, and Applications.

As an Analytics Engineering Director you will architect complex data solutions across platforms, business intelligence and data science / machine learning use cases. As a senior individual contributor in the group, this person will drive technical and quantitative standards, coach engineers towards best practices, and fundamentally ensure that we are successful in building data technology that meets current and future business needs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Product and Technology Roadmap:
    • Collaborate with Product and Technology counterparts to contribute in shaping product and technology roadmaps taking in consideration short term and long term business and technology objectives.
    • Architecting Complex Analytics Solutions at Scale:
    • Design and implement intricate data solutions that span platforms, business intelligence, and data science/machine learning use cases.
    • Consider scalability, performance, and maintainability while crafting these solutions.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Lead a team of Data Engineers distributed across the globe.
    • Coach engineers on best practices, emphasizing scalable data pipelines and ML models, distributed microservices development, deployment, and monitoring.
    • Take ownership of technical designs, code development, and component test execution to ensure they align with the functional specification.
    • Communicate complex technical concepts, data-driven insights, and strategic recommendations to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders and C-level executives.
  • Quality Assurance and Code Excellence:
    • Conduct unit tests and code reviews to ensure rigorous, elegant, and performant code.
    • Set quantitative standards for quality, cost and performance.
    • Uphold Envestnet's legal, compliance, risk, and business continuity.
  • Agile Collaboration:
    • Collaborate across Agile teams to design, develop, test, and implement full-stack technical solutions.
    • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Tech Trends and Community Engagement:
    • Stay abreast of technology trends, experimenting with new tools and techniques.
    • Participate in internal and external technology communities.
    • Mentor other engineering team members.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.
Required Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
  • 7+ years of experience with a public cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.
  • 7+ years of experience with distributed data/computing tools such as MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, MySQL.
  • 5+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting.
  • 5+ years of experience with distributed and microservices architecture, actor model and/or Akka clustering.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership and team management, preferably in ML/AI-driven project environments.
  • 5+ years experience working on real-time data and streaming applications.
  • 5+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cassandra).
  • 5+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake).
  • 5+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices.
  • 5+ years of experience with DevOps/MLOps concepts and frameworks.
  • 4+ years of experience with Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • 4+ years of experience with microservices monitoring and observability frameworks.
  • 4+ years of experience with Cloud Serverless technologies.
  • 4+ years of experience with Metadata, DQ and model governance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field.
  • Prior experience working on LLM for business applications.
  • Experience with the following technologies: Jenkins, Octopus, ADFS, Jira, Confluence, Splunk.
