Position Overview

The Director of Internal Audit is responsible for coordinating and supervising the Internal Audit function, performing various audits, and executing various administrative duties to discharge requirements set forth in the Internal Audit Charter and as delegated by the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Examines all functions to be audited and reviews general operating efficiency and adequacy of controls.
  • Complies with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the Company's adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  • Measures the attainment of objectives and adherence to audit controls, regulatory requirements, company policy, etc.
  • Interprets the results of audit work performed and determines internal control weaknesses; prepares report of findings and recommendations.
  • Follows all audit policies and parameters established in the audit program while performing internal audits.
  • Maintains on-site control over all asset and liability records, cash, collateral, safekeeping items, etc., until audit is completed.
  • Conducts audits on a timely basis and in accordance with the annual Audit Plan.
  • Creates and assigns responsibilities for completing the annual Audit Plan.
  • Ensures that, during audits, operations proceed as normally as possible.
Education & Qualifications
  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field of study required; M.S. Accountancy or M.B.A preferred.
  • CPA, CIA, or related certification preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in related positions normally required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Skill(s)

Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; demonstrated proficiency in interpreting, analyzing, and reporting financial information; a thorough knowledge of financial services regulatory requirements and internal control requirements relating to the audit function; proficient analytical skills and problem-solving ability; strong computer skills; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 20 lbs. or less; visual, auditory and speaking skills; valid driver's license is required.
