Schedule Details: Typically Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Remote work.

What You Will Do:

The project engineer role solves operational problems and improves levels of quality, service, or productivity. The Project Engineer works with members of department(s) or service line(s) and develops recommendations for improvement. They focus on improving the availability and validity of information used in analysis, decision making, and monitoring operations performance. The Project Engineer determines the most efficient and effective way to run the operation.

Responsibilities:
  • Critically analyzes current processes to find improvement opportunities. Effectively documents a case for change, recommends improvements, and works with teams and leaders to execute.
  • Able to apply principles of lean, six sigma or other defined PI methodology in project work.
  • Possess basic knowledge of statistics and is able to analyze data using various statistical methods.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to timelines.
  • Able to communicate and present material with all levels of the organization.
  • Successfully secures the cooperation necessary for effective teamwork and willingly supports others to meet the needs of customers.
  • Proficient with the following software: Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Project, Visio and Minitab.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of Healthcare and Health Systems Engineering by reading appropriate literature, maintaining colleague networks and attending seminars and conferences as appropriate.
  • Organizes and lead projects from inception to completion. Accountable for managing the four key elements of all projects: scope, resources, time and budget. Coordinate project resources and also facilitate the many relationships within any project - whether with customers, team members, internal and external constituents or any variety of stakeholders - and function as the central point of contact for all project-related information.
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of PHC's PI project portfolio through the rigor of PHC Improvement Model and with close collaboration with business partners, executive sponsors, and team members.
What you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering/Technical Field required. Master's Degree preferred
  • At least 6 years of related experience
  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Industrial Engineering or Operations Management Experience
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other performance improvement methodology
    • At least 3 years experience in a healthcare setting
    • Project Management skills
    • Change Management skills
    • Ability to communicate and negotiate across the enterprise
    • Demonstrated ability to conduct and interpret descriptive analysis
