As a Help Desk Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to internal users in resolving hardware, software, and network issues. You will troubleshoot problems and escalate complex issues to appropriate personnel while ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to inquiries and requests for technical assistance via phone, email, or in-person.
  2. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues using appropriate troubleshooting steps.
  3. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software applications, and peripheral devices.
  4. Collaborate with other IT staff to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  5. Document and track technical issues and resolutions in a help desk ticketing system.
  6. Provide training and guidance to users on basic software and hardware usage.
  7. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and system upgrades.
  8. Ensure compliance with security protocols and data protection measures.
  9. Stay up-to-date with advancements in technology and participate in training programs as required.
  10. Contribute to the development and improvement of help desk procedures and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Any degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Help Desk Specialist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and productivity software.
  • Familiarity with help desk ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent are a plus.
