Job Title: Estimating Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Estimating Engineer to join our team. This key role involves analyzing blueprints, materials, and processes to generate accurate cost estimates for machined parts. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze data to estimate machine time, raw materials, and subcontractor services for manufacturing machined parts.
  • Analyze blueprints and technical documentation to prepare detailed estimates on machine throughput, material costs, and subcontracted services.
  • Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, and services, and track actual costs relative to initial estimates as manufacturing orders are completed.
  • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to discuss and refine estimates, resolve issues, and ensure accurate cost projections.
  • Work closely with engineers and subcontractors to make adjustments to cost estimates as needed.
  • Prepare estimates used by management for planning, lead-time calculations, and production scheduling.
Education & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of machining experience in turning and milling, with a strong background in estimating within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and perform well under pressure.
  • Prior experience with an ERP system's estimating module is a plus.
