Job Summary: We are looking for a Front Desk Supervisor to lead, support and assist the Front Desk Manager.

The Front Desk Supervisor will assist in managing all aspects of the front desk, ensure outstanding guest satisfaction and guest retention. Increase occupancy and ADR, and develop and support front desk staff.

Responsibilities
  • Help prepare weekly sales and business level forecast.
  • Help with front desk staff schedule to adjust accordingly when requested. Monitor and adjust for any major change in occupancy levels.
  • Assist in supervising the Front Office operation to provide efficient and courteous service to each guest.
  • Maximize guest room revenue through closely monitoring yield management.
  • Maintain statistics on rooms and reservations, guest arrivals and departures, average occupancy rates, and related information.
  • Prepare follow-up and/or forecasts to aid in management decision making.
  • Work closely with other departments, to properly plan and coordinate in-house activities.
  • Participate in all required and requested hotel department meetings as per FOM and General Manager (GM).
  • Provide and foster a professional and attentive customer service culture.
  • Facilitate training of front desk staff.
  • Ensure that all guests receive professional attention and personal recognition.
  • Respond appropriately to guest complaints, solicit feedback and build relationships to drive continuous improvements in guest satisfaction and retention.
  • Assist with day to day staffing requirements, plan and assign work duties.
  • Plan and assign work duties and action items for front desk staff.
  • Assist with staff development by providing goals, mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
  • Ensure front desk staff is properly trained on systems, security, cash-handling procedures and company policies as well as service and quality standards.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans.
  • Monitor budget and control labor cost and expenses.
  • Assist with setting rates, build initiatives and inventory management.
  • Participate in plans to increase occupancy and ADR.
  • Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Possess good mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must have good problem solving ability and actions.
  • Two Years of Hotel Front Office experience required.
  • Experience with Opera preferred and IHG preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required
  • College degree in hospitality management preferred
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to occasionally lift 35 lbs.
  • Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance and follow manager appearance guidelines
