The candidate will also mentor and manage engineering interns and designers, contributing to the development and implementation of engineering and drafting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Structural Design and Development:
- Create comprehensive structural design plans for both residential and commercial projects, ensuring they meet project specifications, codes, and client expectations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and apply advanced engineering principles and software to develop safe, efficient, and cost-effective structural solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to seamlessly integrate structural designs into overall project plans.
- Windstorm Resilience Engineering:
- Perform thorough windstorm analyses and develop structural solutions that provide resilience against high winds and adverse weather conditions.
- Implement strategies and design adjustments to mitigate wind-related damage and ensure full compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Design Review and Optimization:
- Evaluate and refine existing structural designs to enhance performance, resolve potential issues, or adjust to new project requirements.
- Conduct technical analyses and feasibility studies to optimize designs for safety, efficiency, and effective material usage.
- Compliance and Quality Control:
- Ensure all structural designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
- Perform rigorous quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance in all design work.
- Project Management and Collaboration:
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and construction teams to address technical issues, provide support, and ensure project objectives are met.
- Documentation and Technical Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including structural plans, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Generate detailed reports summarizing design assessments, revisions, and windstorm analysis results.
- Mentorship and Standards Development:
- Mentor and manage engineering interns and designers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring adherence to best practices.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RISA).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
