Account Manager Job Overview :

The Account Manager will be responsible for the growth of strategic markets and customers, supporting business objectives set by the owners and management team. These strengths include developing long-term relationships with key customers, market research and the ability to identify “next trends” in the manufacturing space consistent with TAM’s core competencies.

This position will require business to be conducted in accordance with our core values of quality and excellence, have a “can-do” attitude, respectful, truthful, and generous. Additionally, we’re looking for someone who is passionate and possesses a strong overall business acumen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Be a diligent “farmer” and manage strategic relationship with all customers Handle assigned existing accounts, like House Accounts Retain and grow existing accounts, while managing target account margins Achieve assigned performance metrics…activity and results Be a collaborative TAM team member Deliver proposals/price quotes Stay current on industry trends and competitive landscape Work with Sr. Business Development Manager as a day-to-day transactional assistant on assigned accounts Be dedicated to personal career development…continue training and education Develop account sales budgets and penetration plans with management Educate and train customers around industry trends and TAM’s capabilities Support other team members in order to maintain and improve customer satisfaction levels Prepare for weekly sales meetings and weekly 1 to 1 meeting with Sales Manager Populate CRM system with all sales and opportunity activity Develop and make presentations about TAM’s services to prospects and customers Travel requirements – 10-25%

Skills and Competencies:

Requirements

Education A college degree in an Engineering discipline or business discipline

Experience And/or Training

Minimum of 2 years of sales and account management in CNC machine shop in a “hunter” role or as a manufacturing or industrial engineer where prospecting is a critical factor Completed a reputable B2B sales training program is desirable Consistently ranked in the top-half of the sales team Minimum of 1 year of experience using a CRM system for activity reporting Experience in following a documented consultative, selling process
