Job Title: VDC Project Lead (Plumbing, Mechanical Piping and or Piping Fabrication)

Department: Engineering

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: VDC Director

Salary: Commensurate with experience + Benefits

JOB SUMMARY:

The VDC Project Lead is required to have previous experience with engineering and surveying terms and descriptions, calculations and estimates. Lead will work closely with project teams to lead the drafting design on multiple engineering projects utilizing REVIT. As well as provide leadership and vision to the office in the area of VDC.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Create, update and review drawings for completeness and accuracy of design requirements and project scope within budget, schedule and performance criteria
  • Prepare layout and perform drafting tasks from written and verbal instructions with little to no oversight, demonstrating a broad knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Perform and develop advanced drafting and design procedures
  • Run calculations utilizing REVIT or other programs and provide technical assistance to project design teams
  • Identify project information to include in drawings from client supplied documents, field survey data, public records, photographs
  • Make additional inquiries to clients and agencies for specific project information
  • Bring optimization to work every day.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1-2 years' experience in Drafting /Detailing or Equivalent Education.
  • Prior installation / fabrication experience desired, but not required.
  • Mechanical design experience including understanding of welding, machining, and fabrication processes desired.
  • Experience with designing software such as AutoCad and/or REVIT required.
  • Ability to develop creative cost-effective solutions to meet customers' needs.
  • Must be able to organize and execute multiple projects concurrently and will utilize and manage outside resources to aid in completion of quotations on time.
  • Requires excellent communication technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Self driven desire to learn, become competent, and succeed in field.
  • Share demand for accuracy and quality of delivered content for fabrication.
