Job Summary
IPEX is currently looking to fill a position of Intern - Junior Financial Analyst - Reporting and Consolidation. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Consolidation and Reporting. This person will participate to Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reporting, the preparation of individual statutory financial statements for all North America Group companies (multi currencies, multi countries), all within tight deadlines. The incumbent will be also actively supporting any acquisition and integration processes of new acquired companies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Assist in the Month-End closing process:
Assist in the preparation of Journal Entries (infoflo, SAP and Cognos Controller)
Assist in the Update and review Reporting Packages to Parent Company (input data, reconcile and submit) and acts as liaison for all related questions
Assist in the Update and review Working Capital, and ratios calculation (AR, AP, Inventory)
Assist in the preparation of monthly analytical review
Help with preparation of the Financial statements:
Assist in the preparation the individual statutory financial statements for all North America entities and collaborate with the assistance controller upon their completion
Assist in research and analysis for in depth follow up of potential financial statement issues and deviations from standards
Acquisition and integration process:
Help coordinate with other departments involved to cover key points related to the integration
Help to ensure compliance to Global requirements and IFRS standards
Help with the compilation of all required Journal entries and ensure data completeness for the new Reporting Package
Participate in internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to provide financial information and analysis
Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives within the accounting and finance functions
Job Requirements:
Education & Certificates
Completed or currently enrolled in an accounting program and registered in a COOP program at a recognized post-secondary institution pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, CPA and/or MBA or related field
Bilingualism (French and English)
Dynamic, innovative thinker with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Technical Skills & Experience
Intermediate/Advanced
MS Excel skills
Working with large data sets
SQL (nice to have) – to connect to Datawarehouse
