The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager assists the Director and Assistant Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or other appropriate administrators in the management of one or more aspects of Environmental Health & Safety. This position is generally responsible for the management of a segment of the Environmental Health & Safety department. Assists in the analysis of the effectiveness of and establishes future direction for functional policies and programs. The primary duty is the management of EHS Technicians, professionals, and support staff.This position reports to the Assistant Director or other appropriate administrators.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist administration in the management of one or more Environmental Health & Safety units
  • Participate in the strategic planning for assigned areas and assists the management staff in implementing the overall departmental strategic plan
  • Establish performance goals and measures to evaluate success of assigned area of responsibility
  • Participate in formulating and implementing policies and procedures
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of assigned area including the supervision of departmental employees. Provide guidance and direction to staff involved in department services and programs
  • Responsible for ensuring that all programs, activities, and series comply with state and federal regulations
  • Responsible for maintaining an inclusive working environment that is free from discrimination and harassment
  • Required to teach OSHA 10 to all existing and new hire employees
  • Must have the ability to speak to large crowds, exceeding 50+ in a classroom setting.
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of OSHA policies and regulations
  • Intermediate level or above in MS Office Suite products
  • Must have basic knowledge of computer operations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Must be able to make on the spot decisions regarding safety practices, and system operational functions
  • Ability to work nights and weekends. We operate 24/7/365
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma (or equivalent), required
  • 2-5 years' experience in a supervisory role, required
  • Minimum four (4) years' EHS Tech experience required
  • Current OSHA Outreach Instructor Certification, required
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified, preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment
