Safety Business Partner

The Safety Business Partner is a critical role at O'Reilly Auto Parts, responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and regulatory compliance of our distribution centers. This position requires a strong leader who can establish and meet company objectives in these areas, while also serving as the subject matter expert on health and safety related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong working relationships with Distribution Center leadership to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Develop and implement safety training programs for new hires and existing employees.
  • Conduct regular job safety analyses and facility audits to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Drive team performance to meet company objectives in safety and compliance.
  • Lead facility safety committee meetings and participate in corporate safety meetings.
  • Investigate and manage safety incidents, including post-accident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and corporate management to ensure safety-related concerns are addressed.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory agency training programs, documents, and files.
  • Manage powered industrial equipment safety programs and issues.
  • Monitor fleet safety driving behavior and conduct regular safety audits.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in EHS programs and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a strong and effective team.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Formal training experience.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative.
  • Proven knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and state regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Four-year degree in EHS management or related field.
  • Prior experience supervising EHS programs for a large distribution or warehousing facility.
  • Experience in implementing corporate environmental programs.
  • Project management experience.
