A DAY IN THE LIFE:- Perform commissioning on controlled environment projects, including mechanical, electrical, controls, and irrigation systems.
- Create pre-commissioning equipment checklists that verify proper and quality system installation.
- Create commissioning test scripts that verify correct operation of the installed systems.
- Act as the link between design and construction teams; coordinate system design and installation with clients, subcontractors, and equipment vendors in a way that ensures the seamless turnover of a controlled environment project.
- Review controls designs at a very granular level and provide solutions on the required changes needed to meet the design intent.
- Lead project commissioning meetings that accurately set expectations and coordinate schedules for all trades.
- Effectively convey information to onsite superintendents and subcontractors using employees knowledge of the projects systems.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (with a focus in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar) & a minimum GPA of 3.2
- 4+ years of experience in either building commissioning or controls engineering
- Preferred certification in building commissioning (BCxA, CCP, QxA, or similar)
- Strong understanding of engineering principles (HVAC, thermodynamics, heat transfer)
- Comfortable with spending time on construction jobsite approximately 30%
- Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to successfully work on own
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with different types of individuals
- Familiar with construction practices and principles
