JOB CONTEXT:

This role is part of the Human Resources department, specifically within the HR Operations team. The HR department is integrated into the larger Shared Services group, which provides support to NAMB’s main divisions: Send Network, Send Relief, Chaplaincy, and Evangelism. The Jr HR Generalist plays an important role in supporting talent acquisition, managing employee relations, and assisting with reviewing missionary applications. This position collaborates with other HR teams within the department to enhance organizational effectiveness and the employee experience, while supporting initiatives that uphold NAMB’s values and culture.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Jr. HR Generalist is a vital member of the Human Resources Operations Team, primarily responsible for supporting talent acquisition, supporting support employee relation investigations up to tracking the appropriate closing of events, and assisting with reviewing missionary applications. This role is essential in promoting strategies that elevate the employer brand, enhance the candidate experience, and uphold NAMB culture and values. The Jr. HR Generalist aids in various stages of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, transfers, and offboarding, ensuring smooth HR operations and compliance with regulatory standards.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Talent Acquisition

  • Assist in implementing the talent acquisition strategy and participating in activities tied to the team member lifecycle (Recruitment, Onboarding, Transfers, Terminations/Offboarding).
  • Conduct pre-employment screenings, reviewing completed references and background checks, and notifying any inconsistencies.
  • Support the recruiting, transfer, and onboarding/offboarding processes to ensure a consistent and efficient candidate experience.
  • Write and edit job descriptions, support job postings across various platforms, including NAMB careers and LinkedIn, and maintain accurate records.

Employee Relations

  • Assist in managing employee relations issues, ensuring effective resolution in line with NAMB policies and procedures.
  • Provide support in developing and implementing employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to address and resolve employee concerns and conflicts.

Missionaries Endorsement

  • Serve as the primary contact for Regional Directors, addressing region-specific needs related to the endorsement process.
  • Monitor missionaries in the assigned region to ensure they progress through the endorsement process.
  • Prioritize and manage tickets from the assigned region, ensuring compliance with system SLAs.
  • Assist with reviewing and processing missionary applications for endorsements.

Collaboration and Support

  • Collaborate with other HR teams within the department to enhance organizational effectiveness and the employee experience.
  • Provide support in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining HR reports and documentation.

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.1-2 years of experience in Human Resources or a related area, with a focus on talent acquisition and HR operations.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS:

Proficiency in Workday and familiarity with other HRIS systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

OPTIONAL:

Additional certifications in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) are preferred. Experience with project management and HR analytics tools is beneficial.
