Position Overview

We are looking for a Sales and Use Tax Account to support our US operation and who can work independently from either our accounting center located in Chelmsford, MA or from home. You will be responsible for several sales and use tax functions, primarily including preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual sales and use tax filings.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare sales tax filings for multiple Harte Hanks legal entities each of which have multiple sales tax jurisdictions Prepare use tax for purchased items that were not properly taxed Prepare check requests for tax payments Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliation for sales and use tax accounts Organize sales tax audit responses as required This position will also have the opportunity to work on additional accounting projects outside of sales and use tax including general ledger account reviews, corporate reporting, assisting with external audit and public reporting.

Requirements

BA / BS Degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant sales and use tax experience Strong tax research skills Strong organizational and documentation skills Communicate effectively with team and others within the organization Self-starter with the ability to manage time and multi-task Ability to handle completion of tasks under the pressure of tight deadlines and flexibility to handle changing priorities Experience with NetSuite, Microsoft Office applications and tax preparation software is a plus
