AMETEK Spectro Scientific is in search of a Government Accounts Manager who possesses a robust history of success in strategic account management and program oversight within the Defense sector.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in cultivating new business relationships with Military end users.
Spectro Scientific serves as the primary supplier to the US Military's JOAP (Joint Oil Analysis Program), leading a transformative shift in the oil testing technology provided to the Department of Defense. Our primary objective is to integrate JOAP testing equipment into the maintainer's toolkit, moving beyond traditional laboratory settings.

Having progressed nearly a decade into the EFAC (Expeditionary Fluid Analysis Capability) initiative, we are committed to fostering widespread adoption among US and global military organizations.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to champion the integration of innovative technology across the Department of Defense.

This position will report directly to the Division Vice President of Sales & Business Development for the Spectro Scientific and Grabner Instruments brands.


Key Responsibilities Include:
Formulate a military account development strategy in collaboration with the DVP of Sales and Business Development.
Implement the account strategy and maintain forecasts aligned with targeted growth objectives.
Adopt a proactive approach to enhancing sales, fostering credibility with clients through trust, rapport, and confidence within the designated customer base.
Develop and oversee proposals that may include firm fixed, time and materials, or manufacturing plays that align with top-line and bottom-line goals.

Collaborate with Spectro Scientific's Engineering, Operations, Product Management, Sales Channel Management, Customer Service, and Quality teams to create and market value-added propositions that drive sales and attract new customers both domestically and internationally.

Provide market insights on new product development and general market trends, alongside competitor analysis.
Utilize industry trade shows, conferences, and professional networks to position Spectro Scientific as a premier provider of solutions for targeted Military clients.
Manage relationships with consultants and industry experts to optimize the growth of strategic accounts.
Support financial reporting, including forecasting, budgeting, and quarterly reporting requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:
10+ years of experience in the defense sector with a proven track record of establishing new business avenues in Military markets across all branches and levels of the Department of Defense.
Familiarity with DoD budgeting and procurement processes; experience in legislative affairs is advantageous.
Knowledge of DoD MRO practices, particularly with a focus on aviation.
A strong ability to grasp technical concepts related to analytical science and test & measurement devices.
Understanding of reliability and safety best practices.
Extensive experience in developing project plans, coordinating initiatives, communicating changes and progress, and ensuring timely project completion within budget while managing project team activities.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities to create, influence, and develop cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
Exceptional written and verbal communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.
A timely decision-maker, capable of prioritizing critical tasks that deliver the highest value.
Proven ability to lead complex contract negotiations.
Prior military service is a plus.
