JOB OVERVIEW:
The Associate Financial Analyst, Gift Card Accounting, is responsible for ensuring that accounting transactions related to Gift Cards are properly recorded in our financial statements. This includes the preparation of complex account reconciliations and quarterly reporting to management. This individual tracks activities with third parties, researches discrepancies and works directly with vendors to resolve multiple types of issues. This role also assists with data reporting, contributes to analytical projects, and adheres to a strong controls environment and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial:
* Reconcile company records to third party database/reports for a large and complex program in a timely and accurate manner, including general ledger reconciliations; promptly notify department management of any issues
* Calculate monthly gift card program income and expense
* Accurately and efficiently prepares high dollar journal entries, including gift card sales, fees, discounts, unearned income and others with proper documentation in a timely manner
* Track and analyze gift card receivables/payable balances monthly; research discrepancies and work directly with third parties to resolve
* Conduct fraud reviews and recommend enhancements to both RSC and Restaurant processes to minimize risk of loss to the Company due to fraud
* Ensure compliance with accounting (including GAAP) requirements
* Assist with periodic analysis of unredeemed income, discounts and fees and trend projections
* Work with Internal Audit and KPMG to respond and resolve any questions regarding gift card accounting
* Create/maintain reports as needed to fulfill management needs and/or documentation requirements
* Support ad hoc gift card research requests and new projects

* Provide team member desk coverage during peak volume and/or vacation
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum 3 years of accounting, finance or analytical experience, experience with general ledger reconciliations
* Systems knowledge, including Oracle Financials, Discoverer, BI and HFM is preferred
* Strong Excel knowledge with ability to work with large data files (including Pivot tables)
* Analytical and research ability
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
* Knowledge of Oracle, Discoverer, HFM, BI and Microsoft Office
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Exceptional organizational and planning skills
* Self-directed, ability to work under limited supervision
* Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
