Responsibilities include: Monitors the external landscape to evaluate the readiness of Mars’s tax defense posture, Creates and develops processes for preparation of tax defense documentation, Communicates and coordinates ways of working among various stakeholders, Collaborates with members of other tax functions, globally, to assess and analyze risks requiring proactive defense file preparation and reporting, Collects data from teams around the world to support responses to queries from taxing authorities, Prepares responses to tax audit queries, Supports the development, implementation and enhancement of systematized tax audit data repositories with an eye towards continuous improvement, Tracks status and manages projects to completion, Supports Transfer Pricing Documentation compliance requirements, Trains and coaches associates and interns to develop and grow leadership and functional capabilities. Context and Scope: The Mars Tax Controversy Function provides strategy, oversight, and assessment approval for tax challenges, globally. The Function is also responsible for the development of policy, approval, and compliance related to intercompany transactions. It is uniquely qualified to analyze, assess and report on tax risks around the world. This role works with Tax Controversy Managers, Senior Managers, and Director to collaborate with teams, globally, in support of the Tax Controversy Team’s objectives. As it relates to US Domestic Tax Controversy and Transfer Pricing Compliance the role is involved in day to day operational activities. Job Specifications/Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance or similar Post-Graduate/Master Degree in Taxation, encouraged CPA or equivalent, encouraged Knowledge/Experience: 4-6 years of corporate tax experience, including U.S. Federal and state tax, U.S. international tax, with some Public Accounting experience, preferred, Large corporate multinational tax environment experience, financial statement accounting, US income tax compliance, tax accounting and tax planning, Proficiency in data analytics systems (Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI, Tableau), Experience in tax processes and transformation, Experience working within a team environment, including with teams in various geographic regions, Experience in tax reporting systems (ONESOURCE Income Tax, Provision and Dataflow, GoSystem), Experience using and implementing workflow tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet applications, preferred.
