Work Schedule:

Provides safe transportation services for patients scheduled for testing or treatment at the Medical Center. Delivers and picks-up supplies, instruments, mail, linen, and etc. to the Methodist Fremont Health (MFH) Departments and Health Care Partners (HCP) medical office locations. Works with the other Patient Escort Driver to ensure that hours are covered by reviewing Central Scheduling appointment times. Cross-trained to assist in other Materials Management functions as needed.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions

1. Safely operate and maintain a Wheelchair Van while in compliance with all laws pertaining to the operation of the vehicle while transporting patients.

2. Interact professionally with other health care personnel.

3. Interact professionally with disabled, disadvantaged, sick, and injured persons.

4. Complete daily vehicle inspection and equipment checklist.

5. Cleans all equipment following appropriate disinfecting procedures.

6. Restocks and replace used linens, blankets, and other supplies.

7. Makes careful check of all equipment so that the Van is ready for the next run.

8. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Schedule:

Mon - Fri, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Job Requirements

Education
  • A high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) required, may include specialized or vocational courses.
  • Defensive driving class preferred.
License/Certifications
  • Must have a valid Nebraska driver's license with a good driving record required.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years driving experience required.
  • Knowledge of Fremont/Omaha area preferred.
Skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers.
Physical Requirements

Physical Activity
  • Standing or sitting in the same location.
  • May require to stoop and climb or lift light material or equipment (20-50 lbs.).
Job Hazards
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Category 3: Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious material and Category 1 tasks are not a condition of employment.
