Successful candidates will bring innovation to the table by excelling in PCB design and layout, microcontroller programming, control algorithm development for power converters, utilization of cutting-edge wide bandgap semiconductor devices, and designing analog circuitry.
Key responsibilities and competencies include:
- Designing and testing power electronic converters ranging from 1 kW to 150 kW (AC-DC, DC-AC, DC-DC)
- Designing and testing high-speed motor drives within the range of 10 kRPM to over 150 kRPM
- Implementing advanced digital control algorithms, digital filters, and general control of power electronics systems
- Creating power stages, sensor electronics, and gate drives circuits for SiC and GaN semiconductors
- Designing high-power SiC and GaN semiconductor modules with advanced cooling setups
- Developing, laying out, fabricating, and testing printed circuit boards
- Building and testing digital control systems using microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs
Top skills required:
-Minimum of a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, a MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferred
-5+ years experience in power electronics at kW power levels
-Must meet ITAR program restrictions
-Experience with wide-bandgap
-Programming experience with microcontrollers or DSPs
