Configuration Management Specialist III

Overview:

Bowhead seeks an experienced Configuration Management Specialist with a strong background in configuration management processes, particularly within the context of the Department of Defense/United States Marine Corps. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in configuration management and a thorough understanding of the DoD/USMC's procedures and requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all configuration management activities are conducted in accordance with DoD/USMC standards and requirements.
  • Maintain configuration management databases and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with various departments to manage configuration changes, ensuring all modifications are properly documented and communicated.
  • Perform audits and reviews to ensure compliance with established configuration management policies and standards.
  • Provide training and support to staff on configuration management procedures and best practices.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure configuration management activities align with project goals and timelines.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management.
  • Strong Attention to Detail
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Sharepoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII, ITIL) is a plus.
  • Experience with DoD (Department of Defense) configuration management standards and protocols.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
