Position Overview:
SimVentions, recognized as one of Virginia's premier workplaces, is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist with expertise in Technical Documentation. This role is essential for supporting our Department of Defense clientele by developing and sustaining a robust Configuration Management system aimed at overseeing software and documentation baselines in alignment with the client's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement and refine Configuration Management (CM) processes to accurately identify, document, and regulate the functional and physical attributes of configuration items.
2. Adhere to Department of Defense Instructions and lifecycle configuration control, ensuring comprehensive management of both hardware and software configurations.
3. Utilize CM tracking tools to document, control, and audit modifications to systems, guided by Military Handbook 61B and ANSI/EIA-649-C standards.
4. Engage in Data Management, focusing on the development, enhancement, and upkeep of multiple datasets while evaluating their consistency, completeness, and accuracy.
5. Operate within a database environment, generating and formatting reports, and managing data repositories such as Microsoft SharePoint.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in Configuration Management processes and CCB support, including requirements traceability and Agile methodologies.
- Proven experience in managing classified and unclassified media.
- Familiarity with documentation and change report management through CM tools like Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
- Minimum of 2 years in technical editing and document formatting.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, and effective communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with operations at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).
- Experience in editing and formatting DoD documentation.
- Proficiency in MS SharePoint.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Clearance Requirements:
Eligibility for a Secret Clearance is necessary for this role. Selected candidates may undergo a security investigation and must meet the criteria for access to classified information.
