Job Description:

Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator will support the HR department in various functions including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. This role requires a proactive individual who can promote a positive work environment, communicate effectively, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. The work location for this position is onsite in Harbor Springs, Michigan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment; enter requisitions, source, pre-screen interview candidates, schedule and conduct interviews, contact references, perform background checks, and prepare offer packages.
  • Responsible for employee orientation, development, training, and employee communication.
  • Partners with EHS Coordinator on safety and wellness initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate leaves of absences and coordination of these benefits.
  • Effectively resolve employee relations issues through partnership and influence with managers and employees.
  • Support day-to-day HR needs such as compensation or benefits inquiries, employee recognition support, KPI monitoring, and HRIS reports.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR department.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Current PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR support role, preferably in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
