Description

We seek applicants for a full-time position that will assist with daily operations and processes of Risk Management and Public Safety.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Maintain a well-structured records system in accordance with the operations and needs of the department, including but not limited to personnel training records, incident reports, daily crime log, security systems test records, statutorily required annual reports, etc
  • Provide telephone and public reception, ensuring excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors/guests
  • Assist with coordination and preparation of on-campus and off-campus meetings and events, including location scheduling, food and catering arrangements, room set-up, and related activities and support
  • Maintain and process invoices and contractual documents. Ensure compliance with processing and payment of bills
  • Treat sensitively and protect confidentiality of information in fulfilling duties
  • May be assigned duties to assist other departments as needed
Requirements
  • Associate degree or appropriate experience/education
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and inclusively within a diverse campus community, including with students, employees, and external community members
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to problem-solve, work independently, and function professionally under pressure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional office support experience
  • Experience working in a Public Safety operations environment

EMPLOYEE LEAVE
Vacation: 20 days (160 hours) per year with a maximum annual carry-over of 40 days (320 hours);
Monthly accrual on start date

Sick Leave: 12 days (96 hours) per year with unlimited annual carry-over;
12 days (96 hours) awarded on start date; monthly accrual on annual Anniversary date

Volunteer Leave: 1 day (8 hours) per year with no annual carry-over;
8 hours awarded on start date, then annually awarded at the start of the calendar year on January 1

Special Leave: Available by approval for bereavement, emergencies, and legal requirements

Parental Leave: 4 weeks (160 hours) for qualifying events, once per 12-month rolling period

Holidays: 12 designated paid holidays plus 3 paid floating days (24 hours);
Floating holidays awarded on start date, then annually awarded on the Anniversary date - HCC is closed from Christmas Eve Day through New Year's Day generally resulting in additional paid days.
