Health in Tech (HIT) is reimagining and simplifying the way self-funded health plans are designed, priced and packaged for small to mid-sized companies. We are a fast-growing company combining the expertise of software developers, reinsurance specialists, insurance administrators and health-care providers to challenge the high-cost of health insurance for businesses and dramatically simplify the buying process.

We are looking for a fully remote Accounting Manager to plan and direct the accounting activities of the department.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, and budget preparation.
  • Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
  • Oversee the preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Audit accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the periodic external audit.
  • Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop accounting software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • 5 years or more of related experience required.
  • Experience in an accounting role with a health insurance company
  • 1+ years experience in the insurance industry, medical insurance preferred
  • A big plus is experience in the stoploss Insurance industry .
