Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED

Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience and a demonstrated understanding of warranty administration and claims processing

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of asset management software (i.e., Maximo)

  • Experience must include at least two (2) years as a supervisor of a team


Certification/Licensure

  • Valid Drivers License

  • Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) Certification, level 2 within six (6) months of hire into this role and maintained for the duration of time in the role

  • N/A Summary The Manager of Warranty Administration manages and oversees the activities and operations of the Warranty Administration Program within the Infrastructure, Rolling Stock and Shops Department including, warranty work labor and material charge reimbursements, spare parts tracking, replacement or repair, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and field modifications. The incumbent coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments and outside agencies and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Director of Supplier Warranty and Core Management. Essential Functions

  • Manages assigned services and activities of the Warranty Administration Program including warranty work labor charge reimbursements, spare parts tracking, replacement/repair, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and field modifications.

  • Manages and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned programs; recommends and administers policies and procedures. Works with all departments to develop OAPs, SOPs, and review SOW documents to provide WMATA with favorable terms and conditions regarding contracts.

  • Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; recommends, within departmental policy, appropriate service and staffing levels. Provides effective ways to evaluate vendor contracts to capture language as written in both Capital and Operational contracts, to have vendors comply as promised when warranty work is needed.

  • Plans, directs, coordinates, and reviews the work plan for warranty administration staff; assigns work activities, projects, and programs; reviews and evaluates work products, methods, and procedures; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems. Ensures staff is focused on written language of all contracts to measure warranty reimbursement and ensure Projects and Programs are evaluated throughout the warranty periods.

  • OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Creates and generates daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on the status of all phases of the warranty programs; ensures warranty repairs and maintenance activities are accurately documented, to provide management an overview on effectiveness of the warranty department monitoring of warranty contracts and vendors agreements within the confirmed contracts.

  • Provides training support to various departments on effective ways to document warranty procedures and the importance of accurately documented work, needed to process claims.
