Job Description

Summary/objective

The Houseman/Housewoman an important part of the Food and Beverage Team. This position is responsible for setting up banquet events according to BEO specifications, assisting with audio/visual, and wedding requirements. Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club's operations, it may be necessary for each employee to perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of this position, it will be expected that help is provided to others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help the person in this role.

  • Assist servers in their set-up for banquet.
  • Set up and execute audio and visual equipment.
  • Move, organize, and set up tables, linens, and chairs for banquet functions.
  • Monitor pre-function interior and exterior spaces for cleanliness.
  • Remove soiled linen and replace with clean linen.
  • Assist in cleaning dining room occasionally.
  • Stock servers' station with supplies.
  • Walk spaces and meeting rooms to confirm correct set up.
  • Daily exchange of information with Events and Catering Director, Food and Beverage Manager, Banquet Captain, and Executive Chef.
  • Clean and store banquet equipment after functions.
  • Organize banquet storage areas (equipment room, linen closet, table rooms, liquor room, etc.).
  • Attend BEO meetings and make suggestions on event set up.
  • Clean and store child highchairs and booster seats.
  • May assist banquet personnel in setting up, serving, and cleaning up after banquet functions.
  • Move tables and chairs as needed for the next member and guest diners.
  • Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Management and Executive Chef.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, perform multiple tasks, and prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior organization and communication skills required.
  • Ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • No supervisory duties are included in this position.
Work environment
  • Wet or humid conditions - half of the time.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts - more than three quarters of the time.
  • Outdoor weather condition - half of the time.
  • Risk of electrical shock - half of the time.
Physical demands
  • Ability to be on your feet for long periods, lift, move, and/or carry up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to carry out various functions that may require pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching.
Required education and experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred education and experience
  • Prior experience in the Club industry or similar field.
