Job Description

Summary/Objectives

The Houseman/Housewoman plays a crucial role within the Food and Beverage Department. This position is tasked with the setup of banquet events according to specifications, assisting with audio/visual needs, and accommodating wedding requirements. Due to the dynamic nature of club operations, flexibility and teamwork are essential, as all employees are expected to support one another as needed.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
  • Assist servers in their preparations for banquets.
  • Set up and operate audio and visual equipment.
  • Arrange and organize tables, linens, and chairs for events.
  • Ensure cleanliness of pre-function areas, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Replace soiled linens with clean ones.
  • Occasionally assist in cleaning the dining area.
  • Stock supplies at servers' stations.
  • Verify proper setup in spaces and meeting rooms.
  • Communicate daily with Events and Catering Director, Food and Beverage Manager, Banquet Captain, and Executive Chef.
  • Clean and store banquet equipment post-events.
  • Organize storage areas for banquet supplies.
  • Participate in BEO meetings and provide input on event setups.
  • Maintain cleanliness of child highchairs and booster seats.
  • Assist banquet staff with setup, service, and cleanup as needed.
  • Rearrange tables and chairs for member and guest dining.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by Management and Executive Chef.
Competencies
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional and friendly interaction with members and staff at all levels.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position does not include supervisory duties.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to wet or humid conditions for a significant portion of the time.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts frequently.
  • Outdoor conditions may be encountered regularly.
  • Risk of electrical shock may be present.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and lift, move, or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to perform various physical tasks including pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching.
Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Previous experience in the club industry or a related field is preferred.
