About the Job We are currently seeking a Business Banking Officer to join our team in Commercial Lending. This position is responsible for acquiring, managing, and retaining a portfolio of 75-100 business clients with annual revenues typically In this position you will: Acquire, deepen, and retain business banking relationships (new and existing) with a focus on core deposit growth and small business lending opportunities. Work closely with retail bankers and commercial lenders to uncover the banking needs of business customers and cross-sell business products and services. Develop and execute sales presentations for customers/prospects, including formal written and oral presentations. Use knowledge of business, finance, banking, credit, and risk management to identify and promote solutions that best serve the client. Leverage knowledge of credit to advise small business owners on solutions, services, and digital capabilities. Make cold calls to prospective customers and cultivate referral sources. Provide ongoing support to retail team members within an assigned region. Execute all sales-related activities and track that activity in the Bank's customer relationship management system. Attend networking events to build business, which may require after-hour attendance. Create a partnership with the internal and external community, promoting a positive image of the company. Support the onboarding of business customers into various loan and deposit-related products and services. Effectively manage the daily requirements of an assigned customer portfolio. Prepare business prospect proposals and term sheets. Support rollout of new business banking products and services. Monitor small business portfolio to ensure conformity with terms and identify potential problems. Remain current on all industry issues and regulations applicable to the duties of the position. What we are looking for: Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance preferred or equivalent experience. 5-7 years of banking experience, including experience working with business customers. Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills. Strong sales/business development and customer service skills. Basic small business credit skills with good analytical abilities. Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. Working knowledge of personal computers, office software, and other office equipment. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and general business correspondence. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and/or legal documents. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Ability to respond in writing to customer complaints or regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and customers. WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to remain in a standing position for long periods of time (50% of the time). Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery. Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. Ability to travel to other locations based on business need. Ability to work a schedule that includes after-hours events and flexibility during the week.
