As a Public Health Nurse Manager for the County of San Diego you will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the overall activities of one or more public health centers or a large countywide public health program at multiple sites. Duties include developing and directing the delivery of health center activities and community health programs within a geographical area; evaluating the operation of field and clinic services within an assigned area; performing community health assessments and analysis of epidemiological data to develop public health programs and services; assisting in the preparation of the public health center budget; and some positions may perform contract administration duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Valid California Registered Nurse License; AND,
Valid Public Health Nurse Certificate from the California State Board of Registered Nursing; AND,
A bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency; AND,
Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in the public health nursing field. At least two (2) years of experience must have included supervising or leading and assisting the supervision of lower-level staff at the level of a Senior Public Health Nurse in the County of San Diego or equivalent, in an official public health agency, or similar agency or organization providing a generalized public health nursing program; OR, experience in managing the overall activities of a public health program or clinical services.
Note:

A master's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in nursing or health related field can substitute for one (1) year of registered nursing experience and cannot be applied to the required two (2) years of supervision/management.

EVALUATION PROCESS

Qualified applicants will be placed on a

six (6) month

eligible list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained on their employment application and supplemental questionnaire.
