Job Summary: Michele’s Granola is embarking on a multi-year strategy to significantly grow its distribution and sales via grocery, food service and e-commerce channels. As such, we are seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager to lead our HR needs and ensure our people growth and processes are among best in class. This role will own and execute the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including handling daily employee relations issues, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

The successful person in this role will be proficient across the domain of HR functions required to sustain and build an organization. Ideally, they will have experience both in large and small organizations and be comfortable with the variety of tasks typically required of a manager. Additionally, they will be able to operate independently and exercise initiative to complete complex tasks and projects.

Duties/Responsibilities: · Develops and administers company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements. · Promotes positive employee relations through design, communication, and interpretation of human resources policies and programs. · Leads retention strategies and succession planning process. · Analyzes data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations on a variety of human resources issues. · Coordinates training programs, personal and career development, performance appraisal process, compensation systems, diversity and benefit programs. · Maintains learning management system for employee training and develop and compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications. · Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs. · Coordinates employee-relations activities and programs including but not limited to employee counseling, interpretation of policies, new employee orientation, and employee recognition programs. · Reviews employee relation’s issues and recommends appropriate responses to management. · Prepares and monitors human resources budget. · Negotiates contracts with outside vendors to provide employee services. · Manages, hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops human resources staff; manages schedules and workflow. · Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations. · Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions. · Coordinate with any 3rd party HR services as needed to meet corporate needs. · Provides general HR support services for all functions of the organization. · Coordinates with temporary employment agencies to meet organizational needs. · Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding. · Leads the development and execution of the company’s Performance Management systems as well as employee development plans · Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. · Attends, participates, and leads employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. · Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain · Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. · Coordinates administration of workers’ compensation and unemployment claims. · File HR records electronically in employee’s accounts in our HRIS (ADP).

Required Skills/Abilities: · Proficient knowledge of ADP Workforce Now Platform · Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Ability to operate independently and exercise the initiative to take critical HR actions without prompting · Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. · Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required. · 10+ years of Human Resources Experience Required · At least three years of Human Resource Management experience preferred. · Experience in manufacturing businesses desired, food manufacturing a plus · PHR/SPHR and or SHRM-CP preferred.
