We are currently looking for an interim Accounting Manager in Austin, TX. You will provide direct support to the Finance team, review payroll, ensure compliance with multi-state sales and use tax, and financial statement preparation.

3 month contract role

$50-60/hr based on recent experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to the AP/AR specialist and oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Create and monitor budgets for sales, income statement, cash flow, & maintenance
  • Reconcile accounts and analyze general ledger
  • Review and approve payment disbursements
  • Manage the fixed asset accounting process
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, as assigned, to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
  • Review payroll for processing-Calculate commissions and semi-monthly bonuses
  • Prepare monthly sales and use tax filing/payments

Requirements:

Solid understanding of GAAP principles

Multi-state sales and use tax required

Minimum 5 years relevant accounting experience including managerial experience

Retail industry a plus
