Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our Accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of accounting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing accurate financial reporting and control.

Key Responsibilities
  • General Ledger Management: Ensure proper general ledger commensurate with federal regulations, including intercompany transactions and charges.
  • Transaction Analysis: Analyze transactions to ensure accurate revenue recognition and provision records to the correct accounting period.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Ensure proper recording of intercompany transactions on a timely basis.
  • Policies and Procedures: Establish policies and procedures for the department to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Accounting for Related Entities: Oversee accounting for related entities, including pharmacy, real estate, TPA, and administrative entities.
  • Month-End Reconciliations: Oversee month-end reconciliations and timely close process for assigned entities and consolidation.
  • Technical Accounting Issues: Research and document technical accounting issues for the consolidated entities and subsidiaries.
  • Liaison with External Auditors: Serve as a liaison to external auditors on Curative accounting process and procedures.
  • Insurance Reserves and Reinsurance: Manage the IBNR and other insurance-related reserves and reinsurance matters, working cross-functionally with the risk management department.
  • Process Improvement: Drive constant improvement strategy to increase efficiency by improving infrastructure and automating procedures where possible.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls.
  • Expense Identification and Booking: Work with AP to ensure proper identification and booking of expenses to various accounts, including medical loss for quality improvement programs.
  • Process Efficiencies: Implement process efficiencies and serve as the Netsuite manager, driving improvements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Variance Investigation: Partner with the finance team to investigate variances between actuals and budget/forecast.
Requirements
  • Experience: 4+ years of comprehensive experience in healthcare accounting, highly preferred.
  • General Ledger Management: Proven track record of managing general ledger and subledgers.
  • Start-Up Experience: Start-up experience preferred, must thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Health Insurance Software: Healthedge/VBA or similar health insurance software experience a plus.
  • ERP System Admin: ERP System Admin experience required, Netsuite experience preferred.
  • Education: BA in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related field required, MBA preferred.
  • Professional Certifications: Big four, large regional experience highly preferred, CPA license or in pursuit of CPA license highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting required, cross-functional team builder, excellent manager, strong communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, desire to learn and expand skill set, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
