Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

The Compensation Manager will act as a resource to the HR team and organizational leaders. This is a hands on position responsible for the full spectrum of physician compensation services from structure design to addressing day to day compensation related matters within the business. Maintains responsibility for managing provider payment calculations, provider level analysis and medical group support. Oversees month-end close processes to maintain financial statement accuracy. Partners with provider recruitment and shared service accounting, accounts payable and payroll. Provides outstanding customer service to all partners including providers, operations, shared services organizations, and other stakeholders, as identified. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manages the payment process to providers and ensures payments are received, completed and are in compliance with established parameters outlined in provider contracts. Maintains responsibility for ensuring any payments made related to duties performed by providers are done in accordance with provider contracts with all supporting documentation. Provides day-to-day leadership while performing escalated or complex duties. Serves as communication liaison with providers, recruitment, operations directors and managers, accounts payable, accounting, human performance and payroll. Provides day-to-day technical oversight to staff; may become actively involved to meet schedules and resolve problems. Collaborates with management and top professionals/specialists in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach. Manages reporting at a provider level that supports organizational goals and objectives. Reviews escalated provider disputes and issues, reviews documentation to determine corrective action. Supports the development of the annual operating budget for physician compensation. Maintains responsibility for adherence to budget for specific projects. Maintains current knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to physician contracts. Participates in the maintenance of the database for all existing agreements. Ensures communication of all changes with financial and/or budgetary impact. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Experiences You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in compensation is required. A minimum of 3 years’ compensation or HR experience in a health care environment is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge and technical understanding of HRIS systems and HRIS reporting is required. Prior experience with ADP HR solutions is preferred. Strong technical compensation aptitude, utilizing the latest compensation philosophies, techniques and skills Ability to create meaningful presentations and reports utilizing a variety of raw data Advanced knowledge of federal, state and local wage and hours laws and regulations Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform effectively in fast - paced environment is essential Excellent analytical abilities, both with job description creation and modification as well as with complex data sets, such as salary information. Previous experience with Workday, Heisenberg II and EPIC/EMR systems are a plus

It will be critical that the candidate for this position can balance the day-to-day tactical requirements, reacts quickly and able to juggle tasks simultaneously. Must be proactive and solution oriented. Must demonstrate exceptional judgment, discretion and professional courtesy. This person will also need to be a self-motivated, high-energy individual whose comfortable making risk decisions. He/she must be accustomed to working on multiple tasks in parallel. This professional must demonstrate strong leadership skills, best demonstrated by the individual’s ability to gain credibility with team members and senior management.
