The Field Business Consultant ("FBC") is responsible for guiding and coaching our franchise stores to operational success. An FBC will help identify, cultivate, manage and track new opportunities for Franchise growth and expansion. In addition, an FBC supports our Franchisees by aiding in training, site and technical support, and assuring that consistency and compliance are achieved in our operations across the country.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Work with franchise partner(s) and their teams to cultivate the "We Own It culture" of Tommy's Express and ensure compliance with all systems/procedures of Tommy's Express to drive improved financial success
  • Coach and support franchise stores by goal setting, assessing and evaluating store performance, providing compliance guidance, facilitating learning and development, and being the first point of contact for the Franchisee
  • Communicate with Franchise Partners with the priority of increasing their overall store performance, including goal setting, operations, sales and marketing, compliance, learning and development, and being the first point of contact for the Franchisee
  • Identify, analyze, cultivate, develop and manage operational and business opportunities with our Franchise Partners, including development and oversight of business plans and goals
  • Collaborate with Franchise Partners to review and execute resources available to them within sales and marketing; serve as liaison with internal marketing team on more in-depth, localized strategy for Franchisee
  • Help build Franchisor systems, processes, and training materials needed to actively support franchising operations
  • Support Franchise Partners by assisting with developing team members and ensuring exact compliance of processes and systems in our locations
  • Analyze financial data in order to meet and exceed annual operational and financial targets and P&L growth of existing operations
  • Collaborate with Franchise Partner, corporate travel trainers, and internal Learning & Development team on partner and team member trainings, both in classroom and in-wash
  • Perform quarterly site consultations on location with our Franchise Partners to ensure profitability and assure that company standards are being followed
  • Follow a consistent communication cadence and monitoring strategy to support 25-30 Franchise Partners; travel frequently amongst stores
  • Gather best practices from franchise partner(s) served and represent Tommy's Express in regional franchise partner meetings to share best practices, build relationships, and encourage teamwork in regions

Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes:
  • BA degree in business, marketing, finance or related fields, or 5+ years of relevant business experience
  • Experience in multi-unit business development or franchise experience preferred
  • Technologically and mechanically minded, experience in manufacturing or technology company a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence and persuade a wide spectrum of Partners with varying professional and business backgrounds.
    Outstanding relational skills and ability to listen, empathize, advise and direct partners and teams.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods, up to 75%
  • Proficient in technology including all common communication platforms (phone, email, text, Teams) and Salesforce-similar software.
  • Strong mechanical understanding and aptitude
  • A black and white view on guidelines and compliance.
  • A strong team player willing to help support the entire team to achieve excellence.
  • Proficient in correlating data from multiple sources to create financial and operational goals for a growing business
  • Extensive business development or business consulting experience
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement new systems.
  • Technical savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office; experience within database systems a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Process-oriented and strong collaborator with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and across various departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Highly adaptable with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to exercise good judgment and make sound data-backed decisions

Work Environment and Physical DemandsThis position involves heavy travely and may incur varying work environments and physical demands based on assignment:

Option 1: This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and operates primarily indoors.

Option 2: This job operates in a retail car wash environment. Operating hours are Monday through Sunday from 7:00am - 9:00pm. This role routinely operates in all areas of the car wash facility, including both indoor and outdoor work.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, team member must be able to:
  • Ability to work and commute in all weather conditions
  • Drive between company locations as needed while on job
  • Frequently stand and work in a fast-paced environment where they will often be multitasking
  • Able to move about inside car wash
  • Able to move about inside the office to access standard office equipment, etc.
  • Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, alternating between sitting and standing
  • Work with heavy and technical equipment, lift 50 - 70 lbs, go up heights on ladder
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as; keyboard, copy machine and printer
  • Able to effectively communicate, listen, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange information
  • Able to walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, climb steps, reach with hands, use hands to fingers
  • Tolerate vibrating tools and louder than normal work environment at times
  • Frequently stand and walk for the majority of each shift
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
