Revalia Bio is seeking to revolutionize biomedical innovation by honoring the gift of every organ donor. We work closely with hospitals and organ procurement organizations to enable organ donation after patients pass away from incurable diseases like lung cancer that traditionally prevent donation for clinical transplantation. The position requires receiving research organs donated to Revalia and preparing those organs for perfusion experiments. The position also includes the operation of sensitive perfusion and point-of-care laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in clinical or clinical adjacent settings. He/She/They will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work to advance biomedical innovation. The Organ Perfusion Specialist will be responsible to take call (5, 6-hour shifts) Monday – Friday and 1 in 3 weekend call (2, 12-hour shifts) year-round. Additionally, the position will be responsible for executing assigned perfusion chores (e.g. blood washing, sample stabilization). Requirements Growth Mindset and a willingness to approach feedback as an opportunity for growth and skill development Proven experience as Lab Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, Clinician or relevant position Experience in operating standard laboratory equipment, point of care tests, and biohazardous materials HSE Systems, preventative measures and laboratory best practices Excellent physical condition and endurance Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems Ability to work autonomously and under pressure Undergraduate Degree in Biology or relevant field Responsibilities Receive training to conduct perfusion procedures on human lungs, livers, kidneys Learn surgical techniques and human anatomy while assisting surgeons with organ benching Operate clinical grade perfusion equipment Collect processing blood, biopsy, and urine/bile samples to build a one-of-a-kind database of isolated human physiology Test new lead assets in relevant human disease models Organize and store all chemicals substances and fluids according to safety instructions Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time #J-18808-Ljbffr
