The Maintenance Controls Engineer will interact with all levels of Manufacturing/Maintenance leadership as well as Maintenance and Production team members to develop and implement solutions on a daily basis How will you make a difference? The Maintenance Controls Engineer will be responsible for supporting Wabtec with control systems maintenance/upgrades/troubleshooting. This includes but are not limited to GE and AB and Schneider PLC/HMI, VXI Data Acquisition, Network Systems (Ethernet, ProfiNet, ProfiBus, Genus Bus, ModBus, RS232 Serial, CanBus). This will include the Sensors connected to the control systems as well as the control systems themselves. This includes Management of all Software programs/Solutions and their associated development software. What do we want to know about you? Required Characteristics Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 5 years of experience in PLC and HMI Coding related to GE, AB, Schneider brands. 5 years’ experience working with control networks 3-5 years Microsoft office experience Desired Characteristics MSEE in Electrical Engineering or Physics with minimum 5 years of Product Development Experience Ability and willingness to work "hands-on" with various facilities equipment Excellent cross-functional team building and project/program management ability Deep working knowledge of electronics, drives, and motors Strong drive for meeting internal and external customer requirements Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills What will your typical day look like? Troubleshoot/Repair complex motor control drive issues Troubleshoot/Repair machine tool control issues Troubleshoot/Repair machine tool issues Write material and technical specifications for drive/control upgrades Oversee control/drive/machine tool upgrades Oversee the maintenance and any appropriate upgrades to the 101 WWTP controls Maintain equipment/machine tool logic control programming (PLC’s) Provide supervision where appropriate Updating centrally stored programs/information Troubleshooting of facility PLCs (9030, RX3i, etc.) Hardware/ code/ performance issues Ensuring and creating commonality/standardization across campus wide equipment Sensors Calculations HMI appearance Naming conventions Specify instrumentation needs based on the facility needs in accordance with Wabtec Instrumentation Leaders Make changes to prints as needed Provide a weekly update of project status Support troubleshooting efforts of the facility / machine controls Support facility upgrade projects where appropriate and schedule allows What about the physical demands of the job?
