In this position, you will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist responsible for directing the conduct and certifying the sufficiency of initial pre-employment investigations conducted for the purpose of determining suitability and security clearance eligibility. Major Duties: Who May Apply: Job Status: Duration Appointment: This is a non-status, non-permanent Personal Service Contract (PSC) position. PSC’s do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years. Conditions of Employment: Education: Education requirements do not apply to this vacancy announcement. Requirements: Qualifications: Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants applying for the GS-12 must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience analyzing background investigative information and applying adjudicative criteria in order to make recommendations concerning the issuance of security clearances or public trust certification. Experience conducting personnel security/suitability assessments by evaluating background information from a variety of sources and reports. Experience preparing and documenting case evaluation of investigations against national level criteria for investigative sufficiency and for suitability/security adjudication. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position. Benefits:
