Recognizes and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.This role in summaryWhirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Sr. Buyer role located at our Riverview Campus in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Whirlpool manages Indirect Procurement as a regional function for North America and is based out of our North American Region (NAR) Headquarters. The Indirect Procurement team manages purchases of indirect materials and services required to design, manufacture, distribute, and advertise our products, supporting most functional areas throughout the company.In this role, you will have accountability for the Final Mile and Reverse Logistics subcategories for North America (US and Canada) and manage approximately ~$220M in annual spend. This position will engage cross-functional stakeholders and utilize effective Supplier Relationship Management techniques to enhance commercial and operational performance. #LI-DD1Your responsibilities will include Provide strategic and operational leadership for ~$220M annual category spend, supporting Whirlpool's North America Region manufacturing plants and distribution network. Developing and implementing the sourcing strategy for the Final Mile & Reverse Logistics subcategories Lead fact-based sourcing decisions, negotiate commercial terms, and generate contractual agreements with the supply base Drive supplier performance management and build commercial relationships. Create, measure, and execute initiatives that optimize cost, quality, and service Build cross-functional partnerships across the business and engage Final Mile & Reverse Logistics Operations to generate, and execute solutions to improve Whirlpool Corporation's operational and cost performance. Ensure compliance with Global Procurement policies, procedures, and processes. Drive continuous improvement of processes related to the sourcing of Final Mile & Reverse Logistics services including, but not limited to contract management, financial forecasting, and supplier performance management.
