Prepare detailed designs of unusual, complex, original designs, for the assembly and test of customer components.
Designs may be prepared from verbal or written instructions.
Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and design expertise.
Ensures that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the design/drawings produced.
Develop detailed designs and specifications for mechanical assembly and test equipment, dies/tools, and controls, using SolidWorks
Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical / Electro Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
5 years experience utilizing Solid Works and/or AutoCAD Designing various custom Automated Test and Assembly Machines
Knowledge of sound mechanical design principals, shop practices, and automation and test components.
Skills include an intimate knowledge of SolidWorks or equivalent solid modeling software, knowledge of design techniques, automation techniques and principals involved in creation of automation and test stations and machines.
