Grant Specialist (FT) Johnson City, TN Job ID: 004E4B BALLAD CORPORATE Corporate - Grants and Awards Writing and Admin Full-time (scheduled 72 hrs or more per pay period) - DayJob Description SCOPE OF POSITIONUnder general supervision, the Grant Specialist will research funding opportunities that align with Ballad Health's grant development strategy. The Specialist will coordinate and facilitate pre-award grant responsibilities including researching, writing and editing proposals; and monitor post-award grant responsibilities including compliance with funding agencies, reporting, and proper use of funds. Additionally, the Specialist will work with physicians, staff, and administrators to provide grant related guidance, support, and information. This position will also require occasional interaction with current or potential funders and funding agencies.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSee Table of Organization.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree is required. Two years professional writing experience is preferred. Experience in conducting research and/or information gathering to support proposals. Experience with presenting to groups, directing groups, and coordination of group projects, is required for this position. Knowledge of the health care funding landscape and priorities preferred. Demonstrated experience in grant writing and effective verbal presentation and analytical skills, preferred. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Must be able to use a computer to enter, retrieve, and manipulate data. The ability to use word processing, database, and spreadsheet software is required. Self-motivated with the ability to translate strategy into daily work plans. A collaborative temperament and ability to work closely with team members. Requires a high level of organizational skills and the ability to mentally attend to a significant amount of detail work. Ability to distill complex ideas and information from many sources into coherent, persuasive proposals. Ability to work independently, work under pressure of deadlines, and effectively manage multiple projects. The ability to write, edit, and proofread reports and proposals is required.Requirements No additional requirements from any stated in the above description.
