Position Summary: Under the supervision of a physician, Practice Manager and/or Director of Nursing, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assisting the healthcare team with the care and management of patients during their visit. The RN will perform professional administrative and clinical duties including but not limited to assessment, care, treatment, documentation, education and medication administration to maintain and support the office and to assure efficient patient flow through the office. The RN will also assist the physician or other clinical staff with procedures, treatments, specimen collection and communication to patients. BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE: + Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. + Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. + Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, other associates, outside agencies, and vendors. + Ability to work independently and take initiative + Good judgment and problem solving skills + Confidentiality skills + Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately + Ability to problem-solve and prioritize. Must be able to make prompt, educated decisions in emergency situations. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Excellent customer service skills in order to deal with high volume of patients and crowded waiting rooms. + Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of patients in person and over the phone. + Basic computer and telephone skills. Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other: + Education: Graduate of an accredited school for professional nursing. + Experience (Type & Length) : One year medical office nurse experience is preferred. + Certification/Licensure: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse. Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers completion for healthcare workers (with AED) required. + Software/Hardware: Meditech, Microsoft Office experience preferred. + Other:
