Business Development Manager, Security Solutions

Kanematsu is currently searching for an experienced “security solutions”
business development manager . Our ideal candidate will be able to develop and implement an effective sales strategy that results in expanded business for us with security and other vertical market solution integrators that can utilize our credential printing product lines in their overall solutions.
Objectives of this role
Develop, execute, and oversee a business strategy that results in partnerships with “solution providers” to various vertical market segments that typically need the type of credential printing solutions Kanematsu offers
The partnerships shall result in either new sales directly to the solution providers, or to the reseller channels for the solution providers, or through our existing VAR partnerships
Our target vertical markets include solution integrators for the education market, especially for higher education like colleges and universities, and solution providers for physical and/or logical access control, as well as solution providers for the event management space, especially sporting events
While this position does not specifically focus on ID VARs, ideally the partnerships with solution integrators will result in positive benefits for our existing VAR channels
Develop at least $500,000 of new business per annum
Responsibilities
Network extensively to learn industry trends and identify new prospects
Conduct high-level industry research to determine an effective sales strategy
Gain senior management agreement on the strategy, then implement it and monthly report to management on the results
Work with existing VAR account managers to craft symbiotic partnerships whenever possible
Develop client contracts that meet corporate goals and guidelines
Skills and qualifications
Proven record of sales growth in a similar role
Creative thinker on how to grow sales and promote the company’s products in a manner that is beneficial to our target markets
Comfortable and natural with business networking to constantly expand the prospect pipeline
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Seasoned traveler that knows how to secure meetings with target companies
Preferred qualifications
Industry veteran that brings with him or her an extensive network of prospective candidates
Previous successful experience selling comparable products to solution / system integrators, especially those in the higher education or the access control space
Strong negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills
Project management skills, such as creating timelines with milestones and continual progress monitoring
Four-year college degree in business, marketing, or finance
Miscellaneous
Can work from anywhere in the continental USA, but must be willing to travel frequently to meet with prospects at their offices and at industry trade events.
