Summary This position is assigned to the Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) Morale, Welfare and Recreation Branch (MWR); Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR); Commander Navy Region Hawaii (CNRH); Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH). Incumbent serves as an Employee Experience Specialist responsible for overseeing and enhancing employee integration, overall onboarding experience, and connecting them to the organization as valuable team members of the United States Navy at the installation level. Responsibilities Incumbent supports the structure and culture of FFR and how employees perceive their role within the department. The incumbent forms collaborative relationships to create a positive and engaging work environment that fosters employee satisfaction, productivity, and retention. By understanding the needs and expectations of employees, incumbent will support strategies that contribute to a positive experience during a new employee's first year. Duties include but are not limited to: Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, coordinating installation tours, meeting key personnel and introductions to systems, facilities and resources. Periodically follows up with employees during their first year of employment to ensure a smooth transition into their role and promote a consistent employee experience. Integrate multiple offices, functions and teams within the organization contributing to the development of employee engagement and satisfaction. Conduct surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one conversations to gather feedback and insights from employees, and use data to identify areas for improvement. Establish effective communication channels to keep employees informed about company updates, policies, and events. Encourage open and transparent feedback mechanisms. Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to enhance the employee experience and overall offer/onboarding process. Promote a culture of continuous learning and growth by ensuring successful participation in professional development programs that align with the career goals of employees. Prepares correspondence, briefing slides and/or presentation. Develop and present subject-area specific training to both internal and external customers. Prepare and analyze functional area specific reports. Analyze trends throughout the onboarding process and use information to improve the overall employee experience and identify potential areas for organizational improvement. The work involves a wide variety of duties involving different and unrelated processes and methods. Workload and deadlines require the coordination of multiple tasking and functions. Incumbent must analyze requirements, recognize the similarities and differences in activities and exercise judgment in determining which approach to take in carrying out duties and tasking. The incumbent must exercise initiative, tact and resourcefulness in the conduct of work and maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient and personnel information. Work is primarily sedentary in nature. Work is performed in a normal office setting. Position is telework eligible on an ad hoc basis. A qualified candidate must possess: Knowledge of effective onboarding elements, strategies, and practices. Knowledge of employee engagement principles and strategies. Knowledge of customer service and customer support principles and methods to participate in the planning and delivery of a full range of customer support services. Knowledge of CNIC's organizational structure, functions, and mission. Knowledge of FFR mission, functions, policies and procedures, mission requirements, program goals and objectives. Knowledge of business, military and government protocol; safety and security with regard to written and verbal correspondence. Skill in facilitating the onboarding process sufficient to integrate new employees and introduce CNIC/FFR/Installation culture and operations. Skill in applying fact-finding techniques. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Skill in providing customer service, responding timely to customer needs, and demonstrating attentiveness and courtesy. Skill in prioritizing, organizing, and multitasking. Ability to coordinate schedules, tours, and meetings with multiple stakeholders. Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvements. Ability to recognize when to escalate issues to supervisor. Ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to prepare clear, concise, and technically sound reports related to work within the Branch. Ability to develop and effectively deliver presentations and/or training. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Works under direct supervision of the Region Fleet and Family Readiness Director, N9. The supervisor makes assignments by outlining or discussing issues, and defining objectives, priorities, and deadlines. The supervisor assists with unusual assignments that do not have clear precedents. The incumbent independently plans the work; resolves problems; carries out successive steps of assignments; makes adjustments using established practices and procedures; recommends alternative actions to the supervisor; handles problems and/or deviations that arise in accordance with instructions, policies, and guidelines; and refers new or controversial issues to the supervisor for direction. Education High school diploma, two years' experience and general knowledge related to Human Resouces is required by the position. Additional Information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Executive Order 12564 requires a Federal workplace free of illegal drugs.
