Bibsonomy is seeking a part-time temporary lecturer to teach in the Dental Assisting Program.
Key Responsibilities- Teach courses in the assigned subject area, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for students.
- Develop and implement course syllabi, reports, and assessments related to teaching and student progress.
- Evaluate student learning in terms of course competencies and program learning outcomes, providing constructive feedback.
- Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with discipline coordinators and division chairs to integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
- Maintain regular office hours for each class taught, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Classes may be offered online, evenings, and/or weekends, requiring flexibility and adaptability.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Health Sciences or Biological Sciences, with a strong foundation in dental assisting.
- At least 3 years of experience in teaching health education courses or programs, or work experience in dental assisting.
- Current Dental Assisting National Board certification and any required dental assisting credentials in the State of Hawai'i.
- Work experience related to courses to be taught, demonstrating expertise and relevance.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with colleagues and students.
- Familiarity with competency- and outcomes-based instruction, ensuring a student-centered approach.
- A one- to two-page statement outlining how you meet the minimum and desirable qualifications, showcasing your expertise and passion.
- Official graduate and undergraduate transcript(s) showing degree and coursework relevant to the position.
- Optional letters of recommendation, highlighting your teaching and professional experience.
