Program Coordinator - Graduate Education Department

Description of Position

The Graduate Education Office is seeking applicants to fill the role of Program Coordinator. This position provides support for the department's graduate educational programs. The Program Coordinator position is a full-time, 0.75 FTE, 12-month, hourly position and will report to the Chair of the Graduate Education Department.

Essential Functions

  • Works closely with Dean and Department Chair to manage the program criteria based on performance expectations.
  • Assists the Program Directors with planning and facilitating course scheduling, textbooks and student needs.
  • Maintains website, online catalog, internship manuals, and dissertation style guides for graduate education programs.
  • Provides support for students from the application stage through graduation, assisting with student questions, advising, registration, technology assistance, and other student services.
  • Oversees program surveys and degree audits.
  • Works with Program Directors, Academic Affairs, and Human Resources to hire new Adjuncts, complete load sheets, and process contracts.
  • Prepares and processes documentation for certification for graduates in the Educational Leadership, Director of Special Education, Special Education, and Teacher Leader programs (Idaho and other states as required).
  • Helps doctoral students publish dissertations to the required dissertation database.
  • Gathers and compiles student performance data from graduates and supervisors to be used for program evaluation and for assessment checkpoints required by CAEP and the State of Idaho, assist with accreditation reports, exhibits, and documents.
  • Maintains frequent interactions with students (provide a high level of student support), which includes admissions (recruiting) and retention (assisting students that are struggling).
  • Works closely with other NNU departments, such as the registrar's office, financial aid, admissions, and campus events to coordinate student services and department functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

All candidates must have the following attributes:
  • A Christian perspective (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University
  • Self-motivation and commitment to NNU and her mission
  • The ability to be calm under pressure, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision and utmost integrity, multi-task, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong communication skills both in oral and written forms
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Accurate and dependable task completion
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Computer competency with knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to learn job specific programs
  • Ability to problem solve with effective reasoning
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others
  • Ability to represent NNU and the Education Department in a positive, professional manner
Compensation

Salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant. Personnel will be offered access to a benefits package including health, vision and dental insurance for employee and family, life and disability insurance, flexible spending plan, tuition benefits, annual leave, sick leave, and a retirement program.
