Position Overview:
At St. Luke's Health System, our committed team of Healthcare Access Coordinators work diligently to foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment that ensures outstanding patient experiences. This customer service role is often the initial point of contact for patients, playing a crucial part in facilitating exceptional interactions to guarantee professional, timely, and precise communication with both patients and caregivers, whether in person or via phone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient registration, appointment scheduling, and referral coordination.
- Engage in discussions regarding financial options and provide explanations of insurance coverage, including authorizations, verifications, and cost estimates.
- Utilize various technologies, tools, and resources to enhance departmental workflows.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Understanding Flexibility:
Flex employees are expected to work between 8 to 32 hours per pay period (every two weeks). Schedules are determined in advance based on employee availability and departmental needs, resulting in variable shifts and hours each week. The ideal candidate should be available for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Flex Schedule Details:
- Full-time training is required for the first 4 to 6 weeks. Post-training, hours may range from 8 to 40 hours weekly.
- Employees receive their schedules at least one pay period in advance, ensuring clarity and predictability.
- Note: Flex positions do not offer benefits.
