Position Title: AV Technology Coordinator

Position Overview:

The AV Technology Coordinator is responsible for the management, installation, and maintenance of audio-visual systems throughout the institution. This role is essential in ensuring optimal performance for various events, meetings, classrooms, and remote conferencing by effectively setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting AV equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and upkeep of AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, microphones, and video conferencing units.
  • Provide technical assistance for meetings, conferences, and events, ensuring all AV equipment operates seamlessly.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff and faculty on the use of AV systems, offering ongoing support as needed.
  • Create user manuals and documentation to facilitate the operation of AV equipment.
  • Plan and execute AV projects, collaborating with department heads and stakeholders for upgrades and new installations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for the installation and maintenance of AV systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot technical issues to guarantee the optimal performance of AV systems.
  • Monitor system performance and carry out regular updates to align with current technological standards.
  • Maintain and program user interfaces for AV control systems.
  • Manage AV technical support requests through a help desk ticketing system, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues.
  • Document and track support issues and their resolutions within the help desk system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Audio-Visual Technology, or Communications, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in AV systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an AV support or coordination role.
  • Proficiency in using and programming AV control systems.
  • Experience with video conferencing platforms and remote conferencing technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and support.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical capability to handle and install AV equipment.
  • Strong documentation skills for tracking support issues.
