In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.What you will be doingPatient Access Specialist IHSS StamfordA highly visible customer service position that is responsible for the reception of patients, families, and health care providers. The Patient Access Specialist is an expert in areas of customer service, registration/scheduling, insurance, and HSS Standards of Care. Patient Access Specialist is expected to score in the top 5% of measureable categories within 6 months of hire.ResponsibilitiesProvide exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and customersPrioritize patient flowVerify insurance and obtain benefitsTriage phone calls and schedule appointmentsRespond to patient, visitor, and customer inquiriesObtain patient demographics, personal information, and medical history by interviewing patients Collect paymentsPerforms other related duties incidental to the work described hereinRequired Qualifications/Skills:High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), may include specialized or vocational courses0-1 years in a healthcare or related customer service fieldDesired Qualifications/Skills:Strong computer skills, with proficiency in office automated tools: e-mail, outlook, and data entrySuperior written and oral communication skillsExceptional customer service skillsAbility to multi-taskAbility to work in a team environmentKnowledge of healthcare and health insuranceFamiliarity with medical terminologyDisplays positive attitudes towards assignments and othersAbility to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate percentagesNon-Discrimination PolicyHospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
